It’s Emmys night. I’m looking forward to seeing if my favorite shows get some love. I’m not so much looking forward to three hours with Seacrest. Oh well.
Please don’t sing, Ryan. Oh, thank goodness. Leave that to Stewie and Brian. Hee.
I still don’t love Raymond. Oh well. Wait, he’s presenting? Hurry up, already.

Props to Katherine Heigl for correcting the announcer on her last name.
Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries – Thomas Hayden Church won.
One-liner montage from late-night talk shows. Kind of boring, but Ellen was introducing it, so it wasn’t too bad.
Why is this show in the round?
Supporting Actress in a Drama – Lorraine Braco v. Rachel Griffiths v. Katherine Heigl v. Sandra Oh v. Aida Turturro v. Chandra Wilson. I think it’s safe to say Grey’s will win something. Winner – Katherine Heigl. She swore when she won. And then hugged her mom. And her speech was played off.
Writing for Comedy, Music or Variety – Colbert Report v. The Daily Show v. Late Night with Conana O’ Brien v. The Late Show with David Letterman v. Real Time with Bill Maher. Winner – Late Night with Conan.
So far,the comedy writing category aside, I think it’s been a night of surprises. Or maybe I haven’t been paying close enough attention to the predictions. Whatever.
I don’t care that the blue carpet is made from recycled plastic bottles.
X-tina and Tony Bennett had a TV special? Dude, where have I been? I love it how she’s trying to not show. Sweetie, if you’redue in four months, you’re showing. No matter how hard you try to not. The pink gown is fabulously classy, btw.

Best Writing for Drama Miniseries – The Helen Mirren movie won again.
The Interactive TV Achievement Award – presented by the President of MySpace. Something about CurrentTV. Al Gore and his green friend won. If this is so prolific, why have I never heard of it? Like outside of on a job board? Whatever. I love it how Al is married to Tipper, the biggest advocate of censorship, and he’s also the man who claims to have invented The Internet, land of no censorship. Awesomness.
Best Individual Performance in a Music/Variety – Tony Bennett won. Again. He’s spending a lot of time on the stage tonight. He thanked Target, the sponsor for his special. Nice. I like Target, too, Tony.

Best Comedy Series - Perhaps the biggest upset of the night - 30 Rock!
I am still in shock that Best Comedy went to 30 Rock. In a good way. I think the whole cast was in shock. And everyone nominated against them. But they won. And now I hope the show gets the audience it deserves.
What a crazy Emmys night.
